Edisto Island, SC ~ Fabulous February

February 20-27 Roy and I were in Edisto Island, South Carolina. We've been there before.... just not in February. And we have decided we will not go again in February..... it was not quite as warm as we had hoped!
I had hoped for a condo unit right on the beach but as it turned out we were a block or so away. The view shown is looking out from our balcony deck; we were on the third level up which is nice until you have to lug everything up the three flights of stairs and then lugging it all back down when you leave. The in-between is nice though! The weather for Edisto was cold.... upper 40's and low 50's; one day it did reach in the 60's. The wind blowing off of the ocean made it seem even colder. It was sunny the whole time though and so it was enjoyable and we did have a relaxing time.
Along the beach there is an old dead tree of sorts and passers by walking on the beach have donned it with Conch shells; I have shown it in the pictures and then you will see Roy adding yet another shell to the tree. We went walking on the beach every day and found a good many shells and a nice variety too. We took a boat ride with Captain Ron. His ride takes you over to Shell Island and he drops you off and comes back 2 hours later to pick you back up. It was fun, and we found shells; but by the time our 2 hours were up our hands were blood red from the cold. Hot chocolate and a warm jacuzzi were wonderful once back at the condo! Because it was so chilly we did spend a lot of time in the condo. That time was spent watching Clint Eastwood movies of the week, basketball, cooking shows, playing guitar and harmonica and crocheting. I'll let you decide who did what~! All grand babies ended up with scarves and hats. Rorri was still only long enough to snap a quick picture and then off with the hat~!
Rorri has her own little way, bless her heart and when enough is enough she is done!

Oh it looks wonderful. Jason and I keep saying that we need to get away...just us...for a weekend! Only, the checkbook just doesn't see it our way! Hummm? I love the hat and scarf that Roy croched. And I had no idea that you liked to watch basketball! LOL! I am glad you had a good time! But I am even more glad to have you back home!
