Two weeks before surgery (when I didn't even know surgery was in my future) we made a flying trip to Texas. My dad paid our way because he said he was missing his little girl. Awe, thanks dad~ I miss you too! I took my guitar as a carry on because I didn't trust anyone throwing it around with luggage. I sort of felt like a cool country singer walking through the airport~! Well, Roy carried it most of the time but when we sat down I made sure it was sitting by me...... I did get some curious looks but Roy said I shouldn't offer to put out a hat and start playing so it stayed in the case. I also took my harmonica, I had some serious music playing planned with my daddy! If I could only have more of his talent! The trip was a blast. Mom and I snuck off one day and went thrift store shopping. Something mom has always loved doing but can't anymore because she doesn't drive and can't see well enough to read pricing and sizing. Well, we hit the jackpot! We each found some really nice clothing and when we got to the register most of what we had selected was half off ~ Woohoo! A whole stash of stuff for $8! I really, really enjoyed my time spent and I did get to play music with my dad, which is something that I've always wanted to do........ I even got to play music with my brother, my fiddle playing brother. He, my brother, never even criticized my playing either. He had no idea of the dream he was making come true for his sister .......... oh if he only knew~! Then to top it all off on Sunday my dad, my brother and myself played three specials for the Business Men's Bible Class at the Rio Concho Manor. Talk about being in high cotton! I was beside myself with joy being able to play with my hero's. The picture is of us practicing, we didn't get a picture on Sunday but that's okay..... it's etched in my mind foreve
