Name that puppy!!

If you know me very well at all you know that I love dogs, all dogs. I haven't had a dog for some time now and within the last year I have really been wanting to get another one. So after much deliberation and thought and pleading with Roy he has agreed that I can get a puppy. Together we have decided on a Coton de Tulear. A breed that not too many people are familiar with because they have only been in the United States since 1974. They are originally from Madagascar.
We have decided on a puppy, a girl, who is just now about 3 weeks old. We cannot get her until she is 8 weeks old but we are already getting ready and planning for her arrival. The pictures tell the story of what we have purchased so that we will be well equipped and ready for her. We need a name.......THAT is where you come in! I have put a couple of pictures of the breed in for you to see. One of a puppy and another of an adult dog. Ours will be all white and as I said before, it will be a girl. Roy is wanting to just call her Cotton, which is cute but not too original. I've been trying to come up with a name that would emphasize that she is white and fluffy, something really cute. Send us your ideas and help us name our puppy!!!

"Angel" might make her behave like one and easy to train!

Oh what a cute dog! and puppy!!! Well, I am going to research the perfect name for you. Here is my first suggestion...Bianco is Italian for white, it does sound a bit masculine so perhaps Bianca? Ok...time to do more research!

I am pretty good at giving good dogs, good names – you may remember such names as "Tootsie", "Spotty", "Pepsi", "Molly".

Ok Ok, I admit I only gave TWO of those dogs their names, but I was a part of the naming counsel for the other two.

Before telling you my idea, let me explain the most important criteria: Is it fun to say? As a grandkid, the names of my grandparents dogs were pretty important - Mitzi, Annie, and Pumpett (a.k.a. pumpy) are the only dogs of my grandparents I can really remember. I think there was a "hooksie" in there too (having been found with a fish-hook through his lip). The point is, those are fun to say in my "puppy-voice".

As a grandmother, I suspect your grand-babies will keep you all the younger if they can remember this dog when they are older. Good, fun name = good, fun, and memorable dog.

Upon seeing the pictures you posted, the name that INSTANTLY came to mind was "Muffy". Variations can include 'Lil Miss Muffy (the 'Lil is optional), Muffy Puppy, and (imagine the grandkids screaming this in your house) MUFFFFFFFYYYYYYYYYYY!

"Muffy" came to mind before reading you want the name to emphasize white and fluffy. This may just work, however, as I suspect your dog will be M-ilky white and super fl-UFFY. M-UFFY. Miss Muffy.

It sounds very distinguished, too – worthy of all the love I am sure she is to be shown.

Just my thoughts....

Oh, you did do it! Now I forget all the funny suggestions we had for you that night on our way to WOW. Wait a minute, is there a prize for winning this contest? Like, you know, first dibs on holding her or something?! I'll have to think about this again, since I forgot all my helpful suggestions.
